Friend,
Well I am in Great Britain right now in a town called Hereford. It is quite a nice looking town and all. Lots of read brick. I am very lucky in that everyone here in Britian seems to speak English!!! I am very lucky that way. I am told I have a funny accent but I do not see it. I have a meet on Saturday in Stafford that will be nationally televised. Since they only have five channels it is a good bet that lots of people will see it. Another thing. For the first time in my life I am TAN!!!! Well, relatively speaking that is. When I arrived it was clear and 70 out. Last night it rained and was about 50 when I went for my early morning (1030am) walk. In about two weeks I am moving next to Windsor Palace in one of the estates there. Yea, rough life. They gave me a car here too but I keep getting in an having that darn steering wheel move to the other side. I have yet to be arrested, just had to say that. The beer here is very very good, but of course the girls are much cuter in America....especially the ones who are reading this. I have been offered a few more club sponsorships that will not conflict with my current one. I have been told that if I jump well they will make me a citizen, which would allow me to look down upon you barbaric yanks. All in all I miss you very much and pray for you all. I will do my best. Expect regular updates as to my condition.

PS- I have yet to meet the Spice Girls but I am on it!
hello all ...some of you are new to my update list and for that
...welcome !!! you are now on it even if you do not want to be...well
since the last letter, lots has gone on...on my way to the terminal
at
hearthrow i met kaley kitto at her gate coming in from san
francisco...her and i then ran to my gate..it was great to see you
for
20 minutes kaley..but i had to jet to Finland,...i jumped in
Lappinlatti, Finland,yea...real easy to spell..the people there were
the nicest i have ever met....i need to sit down with some people and
go over the word massage..because AT THE MEET when i went to get my
pre
jumping rub down the "very cute" girl had other ideas as to what
i
ment...unfortunately i had to stop her and explain what that i mearly
needed my hamstrings worked on..but thanks for the offer...
it rained cats and dogs and i came in a poor fifth..the vodka was quite
good..the sun never went down ..and there was a huge electric storm...i
met some cool sprinters from Ghana though..of course my poles were
lost
on the way but did arrive on time by taxi from about 300 miles
away..only to have the airline loose them again on the return
flight...they came back to me a few days later ..the day before i left
for switzerland....in Helsinki , Finland ...in the airport i am walking
by and who do i see...Eric Boxley and his girlfriend ..how random..jon
soon i will just go to airports to see friends...all in all a great
trip..i have another roomie now...rachael dacy from australia nows

spain right now..quick note:..Auzzie chicks can swear like a drunken
sailor...she is great..i got lots of video around europe and will
e-send some soon....today i got back from Jona, Switzerland...this
was
one heck of a trip ...my teammate christian north forgot his passport
at heathrow so he missed the flight...we all had to wait in munich,
germany for 4 hours for him to get the passport and get another
flight..then we had to sneak across the swiss border as the visa issue
was unknown so that was pretty fun..i have video of the border guards'
guns..we got in really late (2am) and crashed...the weather was great
until i stepped on the runway...RAIN AGAIN!!!! the europeans now think
i am a curse and dont want me to jump anymore...i did well (2nd)
considering the terrible conditions again...the only thing is that
i
now think i am married to some swiss girl whom i have no idea what
her
name is..my german buds had me say a phrase to her and all she
said
was , "ya jason"..i later found that i proposed for her hand ..oh well,
mom , i think she catholic!so can i keep her? next week i am in
the UK
and maybe spain the next.. i never really know..but my german is
getting better by the day....i can now understand all the jokes on
hogans heroes. ...on another note..i met some auzzies in Jona..of

drunk, and...."you are a ledgend still ...dean..hi from
Lapinllatti..they love you there europe is still fun but and english

Once again there are some new faces on the update list. Welcome
to the
newcomers and enjoy the reading. In an attempt to make it look like
I
have friends, you have been added.
Hey Dom, your girlfriend is cheating on you.
Well the pole vault world here in Europe has once again provided a
number of stories and blurred evenings.
Well to start with I once again ran into Mike Edwards (England 5.64M)
He had just returned from Texas and with a new PB. Go figure.
British
Athletics is a little unsure about it as it came from the land of,
"measure, gee, looks about 200 cans of Copenhagen to me, aint dat
right?". Well I saw him jump last week and I believe it was legal.
This led me to listen to a Texas/English accent. Strange but
true, he
has got one. After getting the recipe for rattlesnake pie and
a crop
of new southern pick up lines,"you shore look perty with all
thim
white thangs in yer mouth". I parted ways, knowing that he was
dangerous. The nicest guy in the world he is, but I think he
beat up a
truck once!
Well I have learned that I have a meet in Crete on Wednesday, hmmm
looks like a rough deal but I think I can get talked into it. Three
days on beaches with eyepatch swinwear might be good for me.
I just
returned from the UK AAA. Which is their national champs. Janeine
Whitlock (sp) won it with a nice 4.25m . I almost watched it but this
reaaaaaly cute 5000m race was going on. As a result I've got ten
minutes of "ass" footage interupted by huge crowd roars for the
vaulting. I thought there were watching what I was, how was I
to know.
Irie Hill came in second and there was a tie for third between
a cute
girl and someone else. While there, by the way, who do I run
in to
.....LARRY JESSE, (hot wife alert!!!) After talking to him for a few
I
was convinced that I was a 6.20 jumper and shall now use that as my
official best(Texas here I come)! But really, he and I had a great
time
and I must say, that I was impressed with his vision of the event.
Listen when he speaks, he knows what is up. We might have to
meet up
later in the week and empty a few kegs.
Well after the meet (where I got a sunburn), I drove to Windsor
and
made it down to the Thames River. I had been invited for a river
cruise and decided to bring my aussie roomies..my really good looking
aussie roomies. Well I look great walking onto the party boat
with two
ladies...that soon ended when I found the bar. We all danced
the night
away and I didn't get thrown off the boat, but I tried!!! We would
go
under low bridges, you see, and I would run to the front of the boat.
Jump and grap the bridge. I would stop, but the boat would keep
going.
As a result a hanging Hinkin would end up plowing the entire top deck
of people only to let go and drop right before the ship finished
passing under me. To funny! --> Quick note here..in the UK there
are
no photo IDs so, uh, Scott Huffman is now wanted by the bobbies
over
here. Well that is about it, hope you enjoyed the update and
peace to
all, I miss you guys! I give an update after Crete!!! It's 4pm Sunday,
and Track is on TV...what is on where you are?

At the

I
